Steve and I both grew up with artists. Steve’s mother loved to paint pictures of her gardens and other landscapes with both acrylics and watercolors. My parents loved to replicate famous impressionist painters using oils and acrylics. My father Joe father also enjoyed turning wooden logs and bluestone slabs into unique, beautiful sculptures.
During our travels we both enjoyed visiting many museums, admiring architechture and had the pleasure to stroll the halls of some world reknown museums, including The Louvre and Le Musee D’Orsay in Paris and the Belvedere Museum in Vienna.
In our home we enjoy creating large arrangements of paintings on our walls and finding unusual spots to hang them.
My daughter moved to Denver, Colorado in 2011 and during a visit to see her we found a unique activity that combined our love of fun music, our love of good wine, and our newly found creativity with acrylic painting. It was like going to a party, meeting new friends, relaxing, unwinding and creating our own masterpieces. We were instantly hooked. After our first visit, we learned to pack all of our clothes into one suitcase and bring an empty suitcase to bring home our newly created masterpieces.
Since Denver is too far to travel each week, we decided to share our experiences with our friends in the Hudson Valley.
